Up to 1 in 3 people with dementia may have sight loss and are missing out on regular eyecare. To tackle this issue, a new project is creating a dementia-friendly eyecare pathway for residential aged care.

The National Centre for Healthy Ageing will soon be seeking input on the pathway from people living with dementia, family carers, aged care providers and staff, health and medical professionals working in aged care, and community organisations involved in aged care and dementia advocacy and support.
