Biography
Dr Stephanie Wong is a registered clinical neuropsychologist and Senior Research Fellow in Psychology at Flinders University, Adelaide. Her research examines how changes in the brain lead to cognitive and behavioural declines in older adults and people with dementia. She uses a variety of methods from clinical neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience, including structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and is involved in developing and implementing new clinical assessment tools. Through her research and clinical work, Dr Wong aims to translate research findings into advances in clinical practice and interventions, thereby improving the quality of life of people living with dementia and their families.

Dr Wong currently holds an EL1 NHMRC Investigator grant, which focuses on assessment and interventions for apathy in dementia and related conditions. She leads the MRFF-funded SNAVI project (Spatial Navigation Assessment – Validation and Implementation), which aims to validate and implement novel neuropsychological tests of spatial navigation for earlier, more accurate diagnosis of dementia. Dr Wong also leads a program of research on improving the assessment of financial capability in older adults and people with dementia.
