‘Race Against Dementia – Dementia Australia Research Foundation’ Post-doctoral Fellowship

The ADNeT team congratulates Andrew McKinnon from the University of Sydney’s Healthy Brain Ageing Program. Andrew was awarded the ‘Race Against Dementia – Dementia Australia Research Foundation’ Post-doctoral Fellowship.

Dr McKinnon will be utilising the existing ADNeT sites and participants to collect data, sending out monitoring devices to participants to assess sleep quality. He will determine how sleep problems contribute to the build-up of dementia pathology and develop tools for clinicians that will guide treatment strategies.

Dr McKinnon will work under the supervision of ADNeT’s Prof Sharon Naismith from The University of Sydney, A/Prof Stephanie Rainey Smith from Murdoch University and Dr Jurgen Fripp from the Australian eHealth Research Centre, CSIRO in Brisbane in conjunction with the CogSleep Centre of Research Excellence in this collaborative project. The study will take place 7 April 2021 – 7 April 2024.
