Blood-based biomarkers for detecting dementia the way of the future

The Alzheimer’s Association 2025 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report provides a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of Alzheimer’s disease in the United States. It encompasses prevalence statistics, risk factors, advancements in early detection, public attitudes, and future directions in treatment and care.

This year they included a special report  American Perspectives on Early Detection of Alzheimer’s Disease in the Era of Treatment  highlighting the critical importance of using biomarkers, such as blood tests, in the near future to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia easily, more cost efficiently and with greater accuracy than current expensive and intrusive tests.

This is part of the important work ADNeT is doing in our groundbreaking study looking into how blood biomarker testing can be implemented into clinical practice in Australia in the near future, allowing for easier, more efficient and more accurate early diagnosis. You can read more about that work here.
