The ADNeT Registry team is excited to share an impact story, where Associate Professor Jane Alty and her team at the ISLAND Clinic (Tasmania) used the benchmarked data from the Registry in their evaluation of the clinic.
The ISLAND Clinic is a ‘one‐stop’ cognitive assessment and research clinic that has been established as part of the broader Island Study Linking Ageing and Neurodegenerative Disease (ISLAND) Project. Associate Professor Jane Alty and her team conducted an evaluation of the clinic after its first year of operation and recently published their findings in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry. Key points from the paper are:
- one third of people assessed were from rural/remote areas
- the ‘one‐stop’ model resulted in 98.5% same‐day diagnosis, which is 2 months earlier than the other clinics participating in the national ADNeT Registry (78 vs. 133 days).
The published paper also highlights the clinic’s participation in the ADNeT Registry and how the benchmarked data provided by the Registry has helped the clinic to better understand client profile and performance.
